My name is Punitha and I am from Pondicherry, India. I am a Mathematics teacher and love to do gardening. I am a foodie, which drives me to learn cooking. My mom cooks awesome food. She always utilizes fresh and organic ingredients to make simple food with great taste and I try to follow her footsteps. In my cooking, I also only use organic and fresh ingredients.
Pondicherry was a French colony and it’s now a Union Territory of India. But still Pondicherry streets have retained their French names, the residents speaks French, the restaurants and cafe serve French food such as guava compote, baguettes and croissants. However, at the same time, the locals really enjoy Indian food items such as sambar vada, dosa, appam and many more.
The food in Pondicherry is strongly influenced by both French and Tamil cuisine. Furthermore, Pondicherry cuisine is also very famous for seafood dishes like crab and prawn curry.
Finally, in Pondicherry, there is an Auroville universal town and it is very famous for yoga and meditation. With my cultural background as being a person from Pondicherry, I am looking forward to share my knowledge of cooking, yoga and meditation with you all.
