Hello, my name is Laura. I live in Otsu station (Yokosuka, Japan) on the Keikyu line.
I am a mother of five children, my oldest daughter, two sons, and the youngest, twin girls.
I was born in Minnesota. My name comes from the word “wild”. I was named after the image of Laura from Little House on the Prairie, who was energetic and free. My family consisted of my parents, my grandfather who immigrated from Finland and spoke only Finnish, and my grandmother from Sweden who loved to bake cookies. My cookie-loving grandmother taught me how to bake, and it is still one of my favorite desserts.
I met my husband in college. My husband also comes from a Scandinavian family and we felt a connection that started our relationship. My husband is a teacher.
I am currently an English teacher at a kindergarten in Japan. I teach English conversation in an easy-to-understand and friendly way, but I also want to share a fun time with everyone through cooking. At the kindergarten, I usually try to create a fun learning environment and help children become familiar with English.
We look forward to working with you!
