Konnichiwa! My name is Kristi, I am 35 years old and I have lived in Japan for almost a year. I was born in North Carolina (US) and raised in Florida. At the age of 23, I moved to Hawaii to be with my best friend and now husband who is in the US Navy. I have two little girls 10 and 3 that LOVE to be in the kitchen with me. I have been cooking since I was about 3yrs old. I can remember cooking with my grandparents, making simple things like scrambled eggs, all the way up to their famous spaghetti sauce. My mother is also a huge inspiration for cooking. She creates some of the best meals by simply throwing it in the pot. She has a gift for blending flavors together that don’t quite sound like they belong together. I have learned so much from her and continue to learn throughout the years. I am not a professional chef. I have no degree in cooking. But I love being in the kitchen. Especially when it comes to cooking for large groups of people. Whether that meal is Fried Chicken and cornbread or a large Italian feast. I just enjoy being around good company and good food. I hope when you come to my home to cook you feel like family.
